Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Special Olympics Programs reported a staggering 70 percent decline in the number of athletes participating in local programming and a loss of over 60 percent of their coaches, volunteers, and staff. Nearly three-quarters of our country Programs reported donations decreased significantly, with one-quarter reporting revenue was cut in half. It will be difficult to return to pre-pandemic levels of engagement and operations without additional resources.

The Special Olympics Program Emergency Relief Fund provides direct support for Special Olympics Programs around the world responding to the devastation caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
